The Fun Day Difference
Most softboards are built down to a price. Fun Day boards are built to last and to actually surf. Here is what is different inside.
Triple stringers. Most softboards run two. Fun Day boards run three for added rigidity, strength, and a more responsive feel that holds its shape over time.
Stringers to the tips. Our stringers run to within about half an inch of the nose and tail, where most brands stop short. That guards against nose and tail creasing, reduces foam peeling, and adds real durability.
Compacted foam. Denser than the beaded foam many competitors use, so the board absorbs less water, holds its integrity longer, and feels more solid underfoot.
Vacuum-sealed barrier. A thin sealed layer sits between the outer foam and the core. If the surface gets punctured or scratched, it helps keep water away from the core, which is the main thing that kills a softboard.
A real fin system. Sealed, reinforced fin boxes instead of the throwaway soft-top fins most boards ship with. Better hold, better feel, more durability.
Designed and tested by surfers. Every model was refined through multiple rounds of real testing with Jamie and the team before it reached production.
